There are numerous factors that are considered while designing the physical setup of the room.

Temperature: Due to a number of electronics and equipment, the temperature of the room tends to be higher which can cause multiple health issues with the operators. The right temperature needs to be maintained for people and machines.

Room size: The room size is an important aspect. The room should not be too small for people to feel cramped. The size must be considered keeping in mind the chances of any future expansion.

Noise: The background noise must be minimum so that the operators may not find it difficult to hear the audio recordings. The total silence must also be avoided as it may lead to sleepiness.

Lighting: In the control room lighting also plays a vital role. The lights must be moderate. Excess of low light cam hampers the performance of the operators. Also, the light sources must be indirect in nature. The light falling directly on the screens can cause glare and reflection which creates difficulty in viewing, The light falling directly in the eyes can lead to headaches and strain on the eyes. Prefer the light sources from the top for ease in working.

Workstation conditions

Other than physical conditions, the workstation setup also needs utmost consideration for the best of the results.

Workstation design: The workstations must be designed in such a way that each system must get enough space. Also, future replacements must be considered while designing the setup. The setup must be flexible and accessible.

Monitor quality: This factor plays an important role. It is worthless to get sophisticated camera technology with the poor quality of the monitor. The expected output will not be delivered in this case. Poor visual recognition and health hazards of the operators add to the reasons to justify the quality of the monitors.
